Camille Coley
Camille Coley, JD, CRA, has worked in research administration and research development for more than 20 years. She is the Associate Vice Provost for Sponsored Programs and External Partnerships, at the University of San Francisco. She is an expert in growing research enterprises through team science and institutional capacity-building. She has doubled the research expenditures at her past employers, the American Museum of Natural History (in New York City, NY) and Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Her background includes lead roles with the Southeast National Marine Renewable Energy Center and the Center for Biomedical and Marine Biotechnology at FAU. Her approach to research administration and development is holistic, and she brings a high level of experience with multidisciplinary project teams and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility frameworks. She is a Certified Research Administrator as well as a Certified Mediator. Past Experience As Associate Vice President for Research at Florida Atlantic University, Ms. Coley launched the research development office. She was also a part of the team responsible for the FAU’s accreditation reevaluation. She led the revamping of office operations for the Division of Research that earned her a Presidential Award. While working at the American Museum of Natural History as Vice President for Institutional Advancement, she led teams to secure the first large grants for Campus Computing Infrastructure as well as securing funds for congressionally funded community projects. She coordinated projects that built collaborations with the Museum’s scientists and educators. She also led grant development trainings and workshops for faculty and graduate students. NORDP Involvement Ms. Coley has served as a presenter at past NORDP conferences and virtual workshops for professional development and mentoring. She was a member of the task force for NORDP’s Certification/Credits/Continuing Education Program. She is a consultant for NORDP’s Pilot Project for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Education Ms. Coley holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland - School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Towson State University.
