RD 101

The spring 2024 offering of RD101 will occur on three consecutive Wednesdays, May 8, 22, and 29, 1-4 pm ET/10 am-1 pm PT. Delivered by expert Research Development professionals reflecting a variety of backgrounds, responsibilities, and institution types, RD101 is designed for individuals within their first year of research development work or for individuals considering RD careers. RD101 provides a strong foundation of understanding of the breadth of RD activities and an opportunity for RD professionals to engage with a cohort of early-career RD colleagues.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to: (1) Articulate Research Development’s unique role within the greater research enterprise; (2) Describe and contextualize how Research Development functions within various institutional structures; (3) Define and compare the definitions of types of funding mechanisms; (4) Identify both short- and long-term goals in Research Development for your own personal and professional growth.

This class is capped at 30 participants; a minimum of 15 are needed for a full cohort. If the class does not reach the required minimum, registrants will be refunded or added to the Fall 2024 cohort.
