NORDP2020: RD in Education - A Discussion of the Unique Needs of Research in Education and How RD Professionals Can Respond

Advancing education research requires a unique subset of skills and expertise that do not typically arise in discussions with the extended RD community. During this one-hour oral presentation, we will discuss the issues and challenges unique to developing and supporting education research. The collaborative discussion will allow participants to learn from each other’s experiences with education researchers and major funders of education research, both federal and philanthropic. The hosts will guide an interactive discussion about encouraging collaboration among investigators, building relationships with school districts, supporting early career faculty, and other RD strategies that are best suited to education research.
